Question about ING account

Sun, 10-16-2005 - 10:03pm

Does anyone know if ING is still offering a referral to open accounts with them? I saw looked at their website and noticed their rates are much better than the .50% I am getting on my savings account now. Has anyone had a "bad" experience with an online account? Looking for more info.

Thanks,
Susan

I have an account with them. I can give you a referral if you would allow me. I love the interest rate and it has even gone up several times in the past year. The only down side is that it may take up to 3 days for a transfer.
thanks

Does anyone have more info on the ING account? HOw do you make deposits? Just by putting money into your checking and then transfering the money? I am interested as well due to the interest rate.

The ING account is linked to your checking account so yes all activity goes through checking. The interest rate is currently 3.348% which is a lot higher than my local bank offers. The only downside is that your money is not readily available so I think it's smart to have a small cushion in an account that you can access as needed. Other than that I have had no problems with ING and I have had my account since 12/26/2003. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the information, Benita. I would love to have a referral (you get $10 right?) I think this will be great for us because we need something that doesn't have immediate access. I will still keep a small account at my bank for "emergencies". Do you know if there are any limits on the amount of transfers into the account? I didn't see that addressed but I did see that they will close your account if you are too "high maintanence", whatever that means. My email is flyingmore (at) austin (dot) RR (dot) com.

Thanks,
Susan
