I hate it when I forget to do stuff.....

Well since things have been a little hectic around my house lately. DH and I fighting and making up, then my DS has been sick with tonsilitis (SP?). I forgot to pay the water bill. It was in my purse for about a week and I totally spaced it off. So when I came home last night I had no water. lol. A light bulb went off in my head, that I forgot to pay the water bill. So I had to go to the water dept and pay my past due plus a $20 recconncet fee. It wasn't like I did not have the money to pay it, I just forgot. Well that forgetfullness cost me $20.00. So much for trying to cut costs this week. The money DH and I saved brown bagging it went to reconnect the water. Oh well, I will do better in the future....

Try not to give it another thought. We all make mistakes. I did the same thing with my water bill about three months ago. I kept putting off cleaning out my purse, and when I did, I saw my water bill in there with a due date of the day before. Ack! I quickly called and explained that it had been lost in my mess of a purse, and they were really nice about it. They said they could accept payment over the phone, which I did with my debit card, and they said that they usually don't do late fees until a week goes by. It happens so easily. There are just so many things to think about and do, and it's easy to forget a bill once in awhile. Sometimes I'll write bill payment reminders on my calender so I'll remember to pay the bills. LOL! :-D
I think most of us have been there and done that. :-D

Don't feel too bad, you're not alone!
I have been lurking for a while but decided to post because I just did something similar...
I mailed out an ENTIRE batch of bills without stamps.
I am probably one of the most forgetfull people in the world. It's amazing that I can hold down 3 jobs, take care of my husband, raise 2 kids, but forget to pay my bills. I'm trying harder to make them my priority and not forget! I've had library books since July, I just moved them into my car so I am one step closer to getting them back!

I'm so glad I'm not the only forgetful person. LOL! :-D I keep a notepad in my pocket (just a small spiral one) and write everything down when I think of it. If it doesn't get written down, I won't do it. Dh laughs at me sometimes when he says, "Remind me to take my medicine in an hour", and I whip out my cellphone and set a timer for an hour. He says, "Can't you just remember?", and I said, "No, and apparently you can't either or you wouldn't be asking for my help". LOL! :-D Honestly, sometimes I have to write down to remind my son to brush his teeth or I'll forget completely.
