Hi to all. Now that the computer is back on, after having the harddrive crash and lose all data (!), am trying to get back into swing of things. Q---What money software program do any of you recommend for spreadsheet beginners like me? Since I lost all of the data (no external hard-drive or back-up disk!), I have to start over. Will these programs "overtax" the computer, i.e., is there a lot of storage capability needed? Thanks. WHiz.

We are using Quicken. I had used Microsoft Money waaaay back in '97, and I avoided all the upgrades to it up until 2000. I just kept using Money '97, although my heart wasn't in it, and I would wait several months before trying to balance all my statements. We started using Quicken last December, and just upgraded to Quicken 2006 about a month ago, and I really like it. Dh set it all up, and it didn't take more than an hour or so once he had all our statements in front of him. Quicken 2006 allows you to attach copies of receipts to your entries, which is good for warranty information later on if you need to return something, or for tax time.

Happy software hunting :-D

Hi, KL. Yes, I am back online! Thanks pat and KL for the info on software. Here's the Pizza Casserole recipe (easy). I have made it for work, family, etc.

Pizza Casserole

One box Kraft Macaroni and Cheese (cook according to directions, and drain.
Two jars Traditional Pizza Quick sauce (in spaghetti sauce section of store)
One and 1/2 pound extra-lean ground beef, browned in skillet and drained.
one medium onion, diced or finely chopped
one medium green bell pepper, diced or finely chopped
one package Hormel (or other brand) sliced pepperoni
One lg. package shredded Mozzarella cheese (not the low-fat kind).

Brown the extra-lean ground beef on stove with a little vegetable oil. Set aside and drain the fat.
Chop or dice the green pepper and yellow onion.
Cook the macaroni and cheese according to directions.

Grease a casserole dish with a little margarine or oleo. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Put the cooked macaroni and cheese in the casserole dish. Add the ground beef, chopped green bell pepper, onion, stir in the pizza quick sauce and the pepperoni until thoroughly mixed. Put in oven, cover with foil, cook at 325-350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
Sprinkle the shredded Mozzarella cheese on top during the last 5-10 minutes of cooking, or until melted. Serves about 6-8. Easy. Kids of all ages love it. So do co-workers. You could also add some italian sausage (casings removed), but I like the quick and easy recipe. Enjoy, everyone! Whiz.
