Shopping as a job responsibility??

I was just going through my Dh's email, at his request, clearing all his spam out for him, and I came up with a "Calendar Request" from a co-worker. Basically, all the guys in his office use the same central "calendar" to schedule their work duties, so everyone will know where everyone else is (and what they're doing) on a certain date or time. Well, this co-worker has made a calendar request for the Boss, and every other guy in the office, including my husband to take one week in December for Christmas Shopping at a nearby Mall!! I've never heard of such a thing in my life. He has it scheduled for all day, every day, but my husband seems to think that his co-worker meant to put it in as each day at lunchtime. Still, my question to my husband was, "What does he want you to shop for?!? Our shopping is done!" We only have to shop for his co-workers, but we already knew what we were going to give them....and it doesn't come from a Mall! Talk about an unexpected potential budget-buster!!

This is just nuts. He hasn't said if he'd accept or deny it just yet. He's wanting a further explanation first. But it just boggles the mind....

A whole 40 hours of a week to go shopping.. lol. If that is the case, I don't want to hear from men that all women do is shop, shop, shop. I could never shop for 40 hours during a week, even if I had the money to do so!

Well, maybe they just meant it as a way to help everyone get their shopping done--they aren't expecting anyone to be so organized as you are. And they're just assuming everyone wants to go to the mall for Christmas (it's just freaks like you and me that don't shop at malls! LOL). And if it's just at lunch times, then it's only five hours.

Anyway, maybe it's not so bad as it sounds. I hope they aren't expecting everyone to be shopping for each other during that time! That would make for a very expensive Christmas.

Let us know what he finds out,

I'm hoping it was some sort of a joke, actually. My husband responded to the request, asking for clarification. I'll let you all know what we find out. I'm hoping he'll get a response today. :-D
