So, this month is good. We are sticking to our "budget," sending out our extra money to pay the mortgage, going to finally get our plates renewed, $500 for 2 cars, they've been expired since August.... I've started an ING account with $50! Going good! Then I go down to get the laundry out of the dryer and it's still wet and cold after an hour! Our heating unit went out! AAUUGGHH! I've been pricing used one's online. I've found a 3 yr old set for $150. We've had ours for 3 years, but they were hand me downs, so I don't know how old they really are!

Oh well! Life goes on! I just have to work a little harder this week for my extra tip money!

Same here! :-D I finally got the money to have my septic tank pumped. It needs to be done every 5 years, but ours has gone six years. It should be fine, I'm hoping. But it costs $275. So I called to make the appointment to have it done on Thursday, and then I started up my dishwasher.....and no water! LOL!! I've got water in every faucet in the house, just not going into my dishwasher. Maybe just a back-up in the hose, but the machine is about 12 years old, and the drain feature was acting up for a few days last month, so I think I'm going to have to just replace it.

I considered cancelling the septic pumping, but then I thought about it a bit. The septic pumping is the higher priority (a back-up in the system could end up costing thousands!), so the dishwasher will have to wait until December. :-D

Don't know if you or your DH are "handy" but my husband has saved us so much money in the past year by making appliance repairs himself. He just goes online, googles whatever he's trying to fix, and he finds owners manuals, repair sites, and some guy who calls himself "Samurai Appliance Repair Man," LOL! He has fixed our dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer, and installed a new hot water heater and sump pump in the past several months. He has a little bit of training because he used to help his dad, who's an electrician, when he was a teenager and in his 20s, but mostly he just figures it out. This is *totally* beyond me, but if you or your DH could do this, it saves TONS over replacing or having repair people come to your house.

Just a thought!

We talked about fixing it, but they are pretty old! We found Neptunes on Ebay, with 1 day left, and they are only at $100! Maybe we can go to $200! 5 year old Neptunes for $200! Save money on water too! I can deal with that!

When dealing with Ebay, be sure to check the shipping charges for any sort of large appliance. I placed a bid on a Drill Press for Dh's workshop once, and the bid was only .99 cents, but the shipping on that item was over $70!! I could buy a new one in the store for the same price, complete with 2 year warranty. Thank goodness I was outbid. LOL! :-D
