DH had to take out a loan

I ended up filing for bankruptcy in October. It had to be paid in full since it was so close to the date. I had to borrow the money from my mom. We bought meat for the first time in 2 months on Saturday. Dh got a promotion, but it involves a very long commute, often times 4 hours a day. They reimburse mileage, but we spent a lot of money on gas waiting. My mom had to buy our last box of diapers. Then the engine blew in his jeep. It's been in the garage for weeks. We can't afford to pick it up. He put his old Vette up for sale but so far no takers. My car since then took a huge dump. He got a loan for $5,000. It should be just enough to get the jeep, fix my car, and get caught up on the rest of the bills. I feel awful. I feel like it is my fault because I have been looking for a job for 6 months with no luck. A few I could have gotten, but we don't know anyone around here, and we don't have any daycares open late. The jobs either require nights and weekends, which won't work due to his crazy hours and long commutes, or don't pay enough for childcare. I'm feeling like such a failure. I'm not really sure what I am looking for here, I guess I just needed to rant.

Please don't feel bad about not being able to find a job. I'm in the same situation here, and I live in a pretty large town. My DH also works odd hours. He'll travel for a week and then be home for a couple of weeks, and then there's the weeks where we "think" he'll be home, but then gets called out on a trip. I would love to find a job in the evenings, just part-time. I homeschool during the day, and I know I can make time in my evenings for a retail job, especially with all the stores hiring for the holidays. It's just not going to work while my husband's job schedule is so topsy-turvy. So I know how hard it is. Just keep looking, and maybe you'll find something you can do from home.

Kelly,

I know the job search can be very tiring and long.
