Q on e-payments

Hi, everyone. ANother question and debate with DH. I e-pay the car payment online. For this "privilege" the site debits my checking account and charges a $13 fee each month. I say it is worth it, so as not to be late, as one time I couldnt find the statement as the company which handled the car payment was bought out by another. Now, as far as I know, other companies dont charge a "handling" fee for paying on-line. DH says it is a waste of $$$ to do it this way. However, I point out that by paying more online, we're saving stamps, get instant notification that bill has been paid, etc. Anyone have experience with any hidden fees on e-payments? Or comments? Thanks. Whiz.

I go to all of the individual websites, too...the only one that is automatically deducted is our insurance, which doesn't change month to month, and is also very high on the priority list, as far as being one we would pay even if we had no money. Going to the website is still easier to me than writing out a check, and I have the accounts set up in MS Money so I have a reminder of when the bills are due. (We have a lot of bills...LOL) I would not pay to do anything online (though I have once, when the bill would have been late if I had mailed it and the late fee was outrageous, but i was ticked even about that since most companies will credit your account the same day the payment is made anyhow) The only convenience fee I put up with is the $1 a month fee I pay to have my insurance billed monthly instead of quarterly (and I don't like that one, either :) Heather
