and I thought others here might also!
Thanks for posting this article. I feel that way all the time. I can sit here today and say that I know, for certain, that I am in a better financial situation than I was at this time last year. I absolutely know that without a doubt. I've paid off a car, I've paid off a karate school tuition loan, I've even paid off a chunk of my credit card debt, learned to be happy with what I already have, and live more simply. BUT...I am still very uneasy about my dealings with money. I also don't like change, as it pertains to money. Just this morning, my husband was saying how he he wanted to "move some things around" in his 401K, meaning moving things to more/less agressive investments, etc. Well, that is something that isn't going to affect our take-home pay or our debt in any way at all.....but it still made my stomach go into knots just knowing it was a discussion of a money-related topic.
I think a lot of people are made uneasy by money. I don't even like money commercials! Well, except the one that shows the guy bragging about how he's got a big fancy home, a new car, belongs to a golf club, etc, and then asks, "How do I do it? I'm in debt up to my eyeballs! Somebody help me...." That one always makes me chuckle because it reminds me that I'm not alone in having debt, and in a way, it's reassuring. But the E-Loan commercials and the ones where the people throw their credit cards into their neighbor's lawn chipper or onto a Japanese restaurant grill to be chopped up saying "We just refinanced our home so we don't need these anymore!" just make me cringe. I always need to change the channel when those come on. LOL! :-D Or the "Lost another Loan to Di-Tech" ones. I figure I spend enough time thinking and worrying about money during the day, so when I have a few moments to relax and watch TV in the evening, I don't want to see or hear about money. LOL! :-D
