Hello from my library where I am returning a book....

I charged some clothes for an event today....I have a meeting coming up next week and I have to dress up....so out came the credit card...I'll balance it out somehow. I need shoes...............oy........

I am just hanging in there. My job is making me crazy, and I realize that maybe my spending today was a reaction to that. oh, boy..........

The holidays have me wondering how I am going to handle it all. Not happy.....I have to make everyone else happy for the holidays, and there is little reward for it. That's how this family works. And SO's family, too. In 2 weeks we will most likely do the annual shopping trip, and I will charge, charge, charge to buy them gifts...and then I will get stuff I can't use in return. Yes, I am a grouch and a grinch this year. What am I doing????

I know I will get thru this holiday season, but I don't know if the stars are aligned for me to actually enjoy it.

I did turn down the Secret Santa thing at work. That is too stressful for me. I don't enjoy grab bag crap anyway. That was a good thing.

The annual Xmas party at work is in a lovely location, and the food sounds great, but it will cost $28 to go......I really don't want to, but that TEAM AT WORK thing is sooooo overpowering in the company I work for.

At some point, stress will end.........everything that is bothering me is just rolling up into one all-inclusive ball.

I think I will go for a drive, turn up the radio, and just see how everything goes today.

PS....I am just happy to have a couple days off this week!!!

I just wanted to chime in that I think it is terrible your office is charging for the Christmas party. What is this world coming to that companies are cahrging for the annual party.

When I think how much money CEOs and company owners take home, and then they are too tight to pay for a Christmas party.

I wouldn't feel forced to go. It's your money and time they are using. If they want to build a team, then do it on their time at their expense.

Have you considered not buying presents for family and friends? I mean really considered it? We’re not doing gifts for most of our family and friends this year. Instead of buying the adults gifts we are buying gifts for a family in need. Then we’ll give out Christmas cards that say what we have done. I know that we’ll spend less money on the family in need than if we were to buy for everyone in our combined families. At some point in time people need to get over getting gifts. I know my family won’t have a problem with it because they realize that there are people less fortunate than them. Just an idea.
