Well, here is my update from my last post in "introductions"...

The credit card I was so worried about accepted a "good faith" payment in the amount of $1166.28 It was $66.28 more than I had expected (due to the collection agency fees). Then I had made arrangements to make $200.00 monthly payments and the agent basically said "they don't allow us to carry accounts for more than 6 months, can you pay $758.00 per month?" I was literally in shock because everyone else I spoke with was willing to make the arrangements for $200 per month and it is a HUGE jump from $200 to $700!!!!!! I told her not at this time...perhaps in the future. She said we would have to "review" my account in 2 months. So basically, I am not out of the woods with this one yet!!!

I made arrangements to pay $200 per month on my other cc (balance is $3935.15. I have been making a big effort to keep my husband's cc's payments on schedule.

To help us get on our feet and to be able to pay some things down, my mother gave us $2,000.00!!!! It was totally unexpected and I did not ask for it either!!!! I was joking around with her one day a while ago when she asked me if I could use $20 and I said (jokingly of course!!!)..."I could really use $2,000" and then I laughed. I totally did not expect to recieve ANY money, I was just joking around.

I have to say, I made a pledge to my mother that I would keep our payments on track and I mean to do just that!!!! Her generous gift made it possible for us to catch up our truck payments, catch up my husband's cc's AND pay the "good faith" payment for my card. Not to mention those niggly bills for oil, water, electricty & phone!!! Now, all I have to do it keep everything going in the right direction. We are going to have a slim christmas this year, but everyone is just going to have to deal with that fact.

I have not bounced a check going on 2 months now and I am NEVER going to allow that to happen again!!!!! We are on the mend and I intend to keep it that way. It is much less stressfull (still stressfull, but not at extreme as before) on me.
