Hi, all. Just thinking back, and wanting to take a positive look at what all you have accomplished this year. What is the one thing you're glad you did, and what do you want to do differently for '06? For me and DH, it was getting a fixed rate mortgage, and saving in my 401k. Goals? To stop raiding the credit union, period. My biggest mistake was getting a card from the credit union so I could withdraw money from it. If I can accomplish that, it will be a lot. BTW---Happy Thanksgiving to you all. It has been an inspiring, learning experience, and am thankful for it. Whiz.

You know in spite of the impending separation/divorce I do have things that I accomplished this year with pride!

1. I started saving 15% of my pretax salary in RRSP - deducted directly from my pay and I have a pretty decent sum as we near the end of this year!

2. I managed to buy a condo in April and even though we put it back on the market last week due to our situation we just accepted an offer tonight which is a huge relief for me...imagine an offer submitted 5 days after the listing went up!!!

3. I am with a great company and this year have enjoyed travelling to many places for work and I have assumed a lot of responsibilities and I enjoy what I do for a living.

4. I didn't bite the bullet and buy a new car, just because I don't have a car payment any longer...the Mazda 3 is really tempting me but I plan to drive my Cavalier for as long as I can!

5. The only thing is that we did incur non-mortgage debt after becoming debt free back in 2004 but my action plan is to pay off my share of the debt before the end of 2006.

I know there are more but these were the highlights...
All in all I was able to put myself in a more solid financial position this year and next year will be better :)

This has been a really good year for us financially..... My Dh income has finally started to get back to his pre Sept 11 crash, and we have been smart with the money for the first time.

1. We accomplished a long standing goal of moving back to our hometown.
2. We were able to buy a house.
3. We paid off most of our credit card debt, and will have the rest paid off in by spring 2006.
4. We have an emergency fund.
5. We have gotten smarter, we have better stratgies to deal with the on again off again nature of Dh job. We actually have so many things planned for Dh to do when he get laid off next that we are looking forward to this.
6. We are talking about money and are the same wavelenght, and are able to identify spending priorites.

Overall this has been a really good year for us....
