Total amount spent on bills each month
| Wed, 11-23-2005 - 10:39pm |
Hi everyone! I just have a general question...no answers are needed if it's too personal.
What is everyone's monthly "outgoing" number? I'm including everything in mine, all debt and other expenses. I don't even own my own home yet!
Right now, mine is about $1900.

I haven't posted here in a long time... I love to pop in a few times a year to get myself and dh back on track, caught up on bills and paying down debt.... as well as being excited to pay bills and watch the numbers go down. The stories I read here are truely inspirational
Are total amount for outgoing expenses not including groceries, fuel, spending and savings is...
$3,545I've been doing a year-end tally of my monthly expenses since 2001. I go through my checkbook and add up all my outgoing expenses (including online payments). I then average out what I pay in bills.
On average, I spend about $1,900 a month (includes mortgage, utilities, phone, and car insurance). Whatever is left per month goes to savings and cash expenditures.
On the plus side-- I'm single, have no children to support, have no debt other than my mortgage and earn a little over $50,000 a year.
On the down side--I live in an expensive city (New York).
I manage.
$2758, which includes our house note of $1456 and our car of $591 per month.
Pat :-D
I have an estimate since I'll have a mortgage a month from now, and I'm also estimating before/after school care for dd, which it turns out is going to be a lot higher than I thought (over $500 per month).
I spend about $1250 per month, that includes almost everything.
Mortgage 750
Water/Sewer 50 ($101 every other month)
Garbage 18 ($35 every other month)
Electricity 50
Natural Gas 20
Prescription 10
Netflix 20
Gas for the car 30
Bus Pass 15
Phone 35
Groceries 120 ish
Other stuff & entertainment 120 ish
The Electricity bill goes up to about $100 per month in January and February, and down to around $20 in the summer, so $50 is an average. The Netflix is the best $20 I spend. I get to pick things out, rearrange my list, it's like a placebo for shopping. hehe. I'd almost pay $20 per month just to play with my queue. I spend less on movies this way, and I get fun things in my mailbox every other day or so.
My take home pay is around $1750 per month, so I save the rest, or apply it to my Visa if I've been using it, which is rare. I get paid every other week, so twice a year I get that extra paycheck, which I use for car insurance and anything else that springs up, like a medical bill or whatever. Something always does come up though, I've never got to play with that money or save it, ever. :)
Right now I'd say around 1800$ which is my whole paycheck!
Hopefully in a few months, after my credit cards and debit card are paid off, I'll be able to save between 300 and 400, use 250-300 for leisure (cloth, eating out, movies, cable, gifts etc...), that means that the bills will go down to 1000$ each month (appartment rent, car, insurances, taxes and all bills included). I'm so looking forward to that!
