Anyone go to the after-T sales?

Hi, everyone. Did anyone go to the after-Thanksgiving sales? Walmart offered good prices and opened doors early. I have never been to one of those things. DH says they mark everything up, so by the time the sale price hits, you are really not saving much. How much are the markups? 10% or 15%? So, is it really not a discount? Am thinking of looking online for sales, but I am already in hot water for spending for Thanksgiving. Did anyone get bargains? WHiz.

I think you can find great deals on Black Friday. Usually I buy a lot on Black Friday. However, this year I was mostly finished with my shopping so I did not do much shopping. I got up late 6 am and tried to get one of the Christmas trees that they had on sale a JC Penney but they were sold out by the time I got there. :-( Then I ended up getting a Fur Real Scamps puppy for my son. The stores were sold out but I was able to get him at black friday price online. The regular price was $42 (been watching it for months) and it was on sale for $27. Shipping was only $1 so that is not bad. I debated over it because it was not on my son's list but he is so caring and loves animals so I thought he would like it. We are unable to have puppies because of my severe allergies.

We have friends visiting, and they were interested in shopping, so we went to the outlet malls on Friday.

All my best,

I went out to Wal-Mart, too. I got there around 6AM. I thought it would be interesting because I have worked there for 8 years, but have never been there in the morning the Fri. after Thanksgiving. There were some really good deals, and my baskt was nearly full. But then I decided I didn't really want to buy the stuff, so I put the majority of it back, except for an mp3 player, which I got an extra discount on since I am an employee and they give us extra discounts a couple times a year. But that is for my dhs bday coming up in two weeks. Other than that, I did buy hats and gloves online for my daughters from Old Navy, and boots for my youngest, since they won't let her go out to recess without them. I charged everything I bought, but will pay most of it off when I get paid this week. I had a huge sense of "Bah Humbug" about me this weekend, though, and after seeing all the stuff come in off of three trucks two nights in a row, I don't think I'll be in the shopping mood anytime soon.
I wandered around Kohls for nearly two hours today...and the same thing happened as at Wal-mart...I put everything back except the boots, which is what i went in there for. No impulse buys today. Sheesh...wasted enough time, though!!! Heather

I decided to shop online for the two things at wal mart that i wanted, it seems like they happened to be almost the only things available from the sale to buy online... the noah's ark little people set (for my 15 month old) and the star wars light saber ( for my 9 year old) . I ended up paying 8 dollars shipping but i think it may have been worth not getting up at 4:30 just to fight crowds and have what i wanted be sold out!!!

Yeah I went. It's a tradition to spend the night at my parents, they live in the city & then my Mom, sister & two grown nieces & I get up at 4:00am & head out to the sales. We did Walmart at 5:00am, got a cd player for 9.97 for my sister-in-law & two Polar Express movies for gifts, the mp3 a co-worker wanted me to pick up was sold out, they stay open 24 hrs so I guess a line started forming for the electronics around 3:00am. Then we stood in line at Target because they didn't open until 6:00am, my sister wanted the Mr. Coffees $4.17 each for graduation gifts, she wanted 8 they only had 4 & we were the first ones there, my sister also got 6 1/2 ft pre-lit trees for $30 at Target (not sure of the quality). I got a great Black & Decker coffee pot for $25(clock & timer too), we have been using my cheapee Gavalia & I think it was about done for. Then I stopped at Sears, we got jeans $19.97 (reg $36) & gear wrenches for $49 (reg $65). Then we headed to the mall, I got oneida flatware for $49 (reg $125), isotomer slippers for $10 (reg $20). I also purchased a couple of sweaters at JC Penney for cheap. Did pretty good on my Christmas list, but you have to understand I live in a town of 200 people, we have no shopping, so when I have an opportunity to go I really enjoy it. I had a great time spending the day with my family as well.

Hi, Heather. Well, I might go to Kohl's and look around, or Target. I heard that last yr, most people didnt buy until Dec. 18th (week before Christmas), as shoppers were waiting for more discounts. I might wait until then. Whiz.

I got mine on the Walmart site. They are no longer on sale now plus they are out of stock. Target had them on sale for $29 and they are now out of stock too. I think it is a popular toy this year. JC Penney still has one type on their site (the Golden one)and it is $34. It is the cutest thing. I got the Golden one for my son. They make them in black and white, golden, gray and white. They say you can teach the dog tricks such as adding, sit, to drop a toy, howl, etc. They also say the body movements (of eyes and stuff) is realistic. They say the more you play with him the more he will learn. Anyway, I'm really excited about this present for my son. There are many Fur Real puppies but make sure you type in Scamps and you will see the one I'm talking about. Good luck finding a gift for your neice! :-)

Oh and I forgot to add one more thing. It comes with an adoption certificate and the play toys (a bone and rag toy). Oh and the box has a hole on the sides so he can breathe (as though he is real). It is really the cutest thing. Can you tell I'm excited to give this to my son? LOL
