Hi,
I was hoping someone could steer me in the right direction. I have a $988 pension amt. from a job i quit last year that they are saying i need to either transfer to an ira or they will send me a check for less 20% to taxes and later 10% more when we file taxes. I want to roll it over, will compound interest really make as big of a deal as dave ramsey says with such a small amt?? Also how do i go about setting up an ira? Through the bank or tax person? Is there something i should know to get the best one???
TIA!

Most banks and credit unions offer financial services such as IRAs. This service may not be available at every branch so you should call or stop by to find the closest branch offering these services. Friends and family may also be able to point you to a financial advisor that they use and trust. Once you find an advisor they will provide you with information on the various funds and help you decide where your money should go depending on your individual needs.
Good luck.
