Info on ING, emigent(?) and CD's?
| Sun, 11-27-2005 - 8:16pm |
HI, all. Am apologizing again for questions, but when the computer crashed about a month or so ago, I lost ALL data. Including the info on ING and Emigent. Someone here said that the ING has better rates than your garden-variety savings account. What is the Emigent? If I could spell it, it would help, but is it like a money market or savings account with better rates? Thanks. Whiz.

So sorry to hear about your computer crashing, whiz. I can share with your my experience with ING. The rates they are offer are much, much better than local banks/credit unions. They can offer this because they are an internet bank and not a "brick & mortor" location, therefore, their overhead is next to nothing. They are FDIC insured (so if they go belly up, your funds are insured) I just opened my account this past week, thanks to a referral who already had an ING account. I recieved $25 bonus with an initial deposit of $250. I also set up an automatic transfer to keep funding my EF on a monthly basis, at no extra cost. They have pretty good rates on CDs, too. I, however, wanted to keep my liquid/accessible so I chose the Savings account. If you'd like me to send you a referral link for the Free money, let me know.

If you want the Free $25 you need to access ING through an email referral (I'd be happy to send you one) Otherwise you can go straight to the website and access it by Opening an Account (however you will not get the Bonus). It takes about 5 minutes to set up your account. You will open your new account by linking your checking account to your ING account. You get to determine how much to open your account and if you want reoccurring transfers to be made. The money will be automatically transfered from your checking to your ING account. I do encourage you to read the information regarding how to access your money (aka Funds Availablity) this tends to differ from traditional banks and your money may not be withdrawn for a period of time. If you have any other questions, feel free to email me at flyingmore at austin.rr.com (spelled out for protection)
