I am TICKED OFF. I pay my dhs chase card online, and the last statement came out on 11-16. I paid them on 11-16. (I also paid them 10-23, so the 11-16 was for that statement.)Well, imagine my surprise when I download his account activity and lo and behold! there is a late fee. I will have dh call them, and if they won't take it off, we will just close the account. i haven't had a late fee on anything in YEARS. Anyhow, I think Chase is one of the most predatory cc companies there is out there, and my husband WORKS for them. ARGHH!! Thanks for letting me vent, heather

Wow...how could they do that to you? I mean, you paid them on time...why the late fee? That just doens't make sense. I would definitely call about that. Maybe they got your account mixed with someone elses (which would still be a great concern).

I hope Chase's Home Finance division doesn't suffer the same types of mistakes...that's who I have my mortgage with. :-D

Chase used to be the worst to pay online. Payments would clear from your checking account and could take longer than mailing a cheque in the post. Sometimes it could take 10 days to show that the payment had been made.

I would call for the fees and explain that the payment was made online. They may return it to you.

What happened is that because I paid them on the day the statement come out for that payment, which was due Dec 12, in their computer system, it looked like I paid them too soon. (So it showed a double payment for November) My husband called them, and they did get a chuckle out of it, and removed the fee, since it was their mistake. They said we paid our account a couple hours too early :) Seriously, though, I wouldn't mind paying off and closing a few accounts that have balances under $500. It wouldn't hurt our credit score much, we have a lot of open accounts, probably too many. Our credit scores are 750+, and we don't plan on applying for financing for anything in the next couple of years. Luckily, it only took a phone call. Sheesh...you have to watch your statements closely!! Heather
