Minimum Payment--not so bad!

MBNA finally posted my minimum payment amount, and it's not nearly as bad as I thought. I was expecting a full five percent payment, which would have put it up around $500 a month, but my minimum payment this time is $148, which is definitely doable. Whew!! Guess I got an early holiday gift--a decent minimum payment! :-D

Hi -
My suggestion is to watch this pretty carefully since Bank of America has purchased MBNA -- when all of the transfer to B of A is finished, they may up the rates. Keep an eye on it.

Wow, I hope B of A doesn't take over my account and raise my payments. Ack, that wouldn't be good. Hopefully I'll have time to pay the balance down a bit before that would ever happen anyway. :-D

My card is through my bank and has my bank name on it, but MBNA handles it. Hopefully that would be to my favor if B of A eventually took over my account. To at least have some sort of connection to a local bank. :-D

I have a BOA Visa card and the payment on it just raised from $180.31 to $280.44, almost doubling it but by no means upping to 5% which was what I was afraid of. Thankfully I will be able to hand the higher payments. It is going to slow down the paying off of by Best Buy Card by a little bit but not too much only by a few weeks to a month. I will be so glad when I finally have these dang credit cards paid off. If anything this increase has taught me that I don't want to be at the mercy of the credit card companies.

Just as a side note: I wish we had a relieved emoticon. I'm not really happy about all this but definately relieved about it.
