I havent been on this board in about a year but it has helped me a great deal with paying off some of my debt. I tried to get a loan to open another store in a great location and I knew it would be successful but I was turned down because my score was 567 or so. There is alot of old stuff that is on my report and some that was paid off but doesnt show it was paid.

I need to really clean it up but I have no idea where to start. I tried to get in touch with one of the companies online and by phone but it goes nowhere. I know there are three, Experian and I forget the other two names. Does anyone know the names of all of them?

Can anyone give me any info in who to call and how to do this? Is there a trustworthy company who can do this for me?

Im desperate to get it done ASAP. Im losing out on a great opportunity because of my past stupidity.

I'd be so greatful for any help with this.

You can get a copy of your credit report from each of the 3 agencies for free once a year. You can contact them individually to dispute any innaccuracies.

I don't know about where you live, but my husband just signed up for a program to help clean up your credit. The company is called Clean Sweep, and he paid $250 for 12 months of service with them.

They go through each negative on your credit report and try to get it fixed with the credit reporting agencies. There are no guarantees, but I felt it was worth a couple hundred dollars just to try! :-) My husband has a ton of things on his credit report that are completely innaccurate.

Good luck to you!!!

The three credit bureaus are Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian. You can dispute your credit reports for free on 2 of the 3 sites. (Just use a search engine and type in the bureau's name) The other you have to dispute by mail. The Bureau's have 30 days to investigate your dispute with a creditor and after their investigation they will mail you the results in the mail.

IMO, you should do this yourself and save a few bucks. It isn't hard at all. I cleaned up my hubby's credit by paying things off and disputing inccorrect info on his report. I also got him a secured CC to establish new credit. I was able to raise his score 50 points in 6 months.

I know you want this done as quick as possible but it will take a little while, considering the Bureau's have 30 days to investigate.

I wish you luck! Hope things turn out for the best!
