I to have a Chase card.I have had it about 6 years. We started out with 4.99% fixed now it is 7.99 fixed. When there was talk of payments being raised we called and have in writing that are rates or min. payments are not going to be raised.
In Nov we get a notice that in Jan. the terms change.Prime rate + 3.99% variable. We didnt like it but it was doable. We didnt fight it.
LAst week received second notice of policy change that starts in Feb. The prime rate + 11.99 with a min of 15.99.Min payment has also changed. This we will probably fight .According to them if we deny any changes they can close the account(wouldnt be a great loss)
If i knew this was going to happen I would have fought the first change.
We have never been late and we always pay a little more than the min.

You are part of the growing group of unhappy Chase customers. My friend just had the same thing happen -- and the date of the change is Feb -- so my guess is that an awful lot of people will be getting these love letters from Chase. When you got the notice, did it say that you had the option of closing the account (not accepting the change) and then paying off the account under the previous terms? If so, I'd close it, and pay off the balance under the previous terms. I think you just need to make sure they put "closed at customer request" on the credit report. Personally, no more Chase dealings for me.

Yes they said we could opt out so I am working on that today. They also said they could close the account but I will make sure to tell them I want it closed at MY request.
Hopefully I can find a card with a decent interest rate and transfer this balance and be done with them once and for all.

The minimum payment change is not Chase's fault. The Fed's change the minumum payment required when they changed the bankruptcy laws...you now have to pay double what is used to be.
That change was the big reason I filed for BKY.
