when does the madness end. I have been looking for a job that fits my families needs...I just called about a bartending position but no answer. I am desperate here. I have a personal business (or two) but the cash flow is next to nothing...actually right now it is nothing! I need help getting my life and my families back on track. The poverty level of a family of four where I live is 18,000.00? What that is very sad...I feel like a quees when I think about that...we make at least twice that amount and can't get it together what is wrong with me. I have tried everything sold everything...and will work....very frustrated...someone help me screw my head back on?

Ok you asked for it...in a nut shell though I don't want you yawning...LOL!

personally I can't finance money...I think I have things under contol and sometimes I do...but then I screw up. I work for myself plus I do odd jobs to make extra money....my husband works full time for about 35,000.00 a year...we have 2 samll children and our house is less than desirable. However, I plan on getting another little job if they would just answer the phone. I have been calling all day! I just need some guidance on how to make a spending (beneath your means) plan! thanks.

The best place to start is to list all of the debt you owe, what outgoings you have in the month (utilities, mortgage, etc) and see if there is anywhere the fat can be trimmed. Maybe no more cable, newspaper.

Once you see your incomings and your outgoings, it is time to create a budget. Maybe it is always bringing lunch to work, etc.

Hope this gives you a place to start. I am a single person and I make about $5000 more than your H and I find it tough to budget - so my heart goes out to you and your family.

I just need to find a job that pays...I took one on that pays per diem...but the clients I had lasted 2 weekends....and the compnay doesn't have any more clients for me (right now). I am also a Childbirth Educator, Doula, and Student Midwife...so I am schooling full time as well. This is all on top of being a mom and a wife.

OK...My bank account is SOOOO overdrawn it is scarry. Sad very sad that I am living like this...it NEEDS to stop. Thank you for the advice...off to figure out ALL debt owed. As for cutting back...not much left to cut. But we will try!

Welcome back!

I know the frustration all so well.

I know others have given you some advice.

Try to re-focus - take all your bills see what is what and start from there going forward (I know it's a depressing thing to do - I tend to go in spurts with putting stuff in Quicken because I hate those red numbers jumping out at me!).

I just wanted to send <>. You have a lot of responsibility in your life between work, school and home - it must be very stressful to have money worries also.

Do you have any opportunity to get out to networking events to promote yourself as a doula? Or how does one market their service?

Also let us know what you figure out with your bills. Maybe someone can see another way to save or cut a corner.

Thanks Beach...I have done much Networking for my Doula services...I guess I need to do more. The competition has gotten thick plys one of the local hospitals has a doula program..and the Doula's are free. So that is tough. I didn't have time to sit and figure out my total debt but I am sure it isn't pretty. Thanks to all.
