Well, it's the end of the year, almost the beginning of next, and this is a time of year I usually start thinking about organizational tools or methods.

All my best,

Danni, I'm interested in the Snowflake group, but I don't know what it is or how it works! I sure could use some support in paying my debts in 2006!

Hi Cher - I think joining the challenge is a great idea!

You can read about the challenge and what it is here on the DSG website:

Hi, Danni and all. Thanks for the templates. Well, I guess I need to start learning Excel spreadsheets, etc. I do have file folders, but everything is a jumbled mess. What I try to do is order year-end statements. Am finding on-line bill payment history is much easier for me to keep track of. 2) Credit score? I know that there is a free thing in some states, and that you should check scores from each of the big 3. Have I done it lately? No. We did it during refi. Am told that you should not check too often, lest a lender/creditor do the same. Does that bode ill for the scores if you check too often? 3) Snowflakes? Not a problem. Just need to get it more organized. I guess the goal is to get separate files for things, so that when tax time comes, it wont be a mad dash. Thanks for ideas. BTW---LOVE the new dog's photo! Whiz.

Hey Whiz - just to clarify - while it used to ding you to check your own credit report and/or score, that is no longer the case.

All my best,

1. Getting organized. I'm one of those ultra anal people that have the next 10 or so years planned out. I found that once I got started I couldn't stop. The future years are just estimates but it gives me something to work towards and gives me the option of playing with my numbers and seeing how paying this off or that off affects my long term goals.

2. I ordered my Credit Reports earlier this month. It had been a long time since I'd done that and they look to be in pretty good shape. Most of the dings I have is from having too much charged on the credit cards which I am working on paying down. I'm looking forward to pulling it next year and seeing how all my hard working paying down the cards helps my scores.

3. Ordered my score from two of the credit bureaus when I pulled down my reports. I couldn't figure out how to pull it down on the other one. Isn't it strange how your score varies so much from bureau to bureau?

4. Yes I joined and I am so looking foward to starting. I do need to sit down and see exactly how much I owe now as I used one of my cards again this past week and did all kinds of naughty charging. But I also paid down a little more on one of my other cards. I love having a challenge, it makes it so much easier to actually send the money to the cards some how.
