How was your holiday?

Now that the holidays are over, and we have had time to digest it, how was your holiday? Did you do what you wanted to? Were there any surprises besides gifts? Did you have any holiday expectations that were met or unfulfilled? Did you get gifts you liked, or did someone or something absolutely blow the holiday for you? Did your debt affect your holiday? Was there a special moment you had that you will never forget? Did a loved one say anything that made you feel so happy or so crappy? Was it a traditional holiday for your familiy or did you do something new? How was your holiday?

It was wonderful for the children. I started off shaky because DH was off all week too. But luckily it turned out OK. And I didn't totally kill my diet. (((Hugs))) Iris

We had a wonderful holiday. It was a little different in that our son is older now. Well, he's only 7, but he's still growing up. Instead of having lots of little V-tech toys with lights/sounds, etc, and Rescue Hero toys to put together and such, he received mostly books and video games. So after his gifts were opened, he ran off to play video games, and in the evening, he curled up with some new books to read, and it was definitely a change for me. My little boy is growing up. :-D

We changed our Christmas dinner this year, and it worked out great. We used to do the whole big meal (turkey and all the fixin's), but it's only us here, and we have no family that might drop by for a visit....so we decided to skip on the fancy meal and make homemade pizza instead! :-D I think it was the perfect thing to do, especially with what I mentioned above about my son growing up. By doing this, we all had to gather in the kitchen together and work together, laughing and having fun. :-D

We also started a new tradition of going to a Christmas Tree Farm to cut our own tree. It created lots of fun family memories, and it was actually cheaper than going to a pre-cut tree lot. :-D
