I am so stressed out today.....

I found out that my BF has not paid our landlord. 2 months behind and the lady WANTS it today, furthermore, BF has left and not returning my calls!!! I found this out last week and have been racking my brains out to figure out what I need to do!! I don't want to be out in the cold with my kids, I have a good paying job but for right now I don't have the money. I can't go to my dad and don'thave friends to borrow from (in the area).

I got approved to get a loan because of income and debt to income ratio but need someone to vouch for me. I can't find anyone to cosign and the bank needs someone from around here....

I feel so lightheaded and ready to throw up from all this stress!! I am trying to calm myself down because I am afraid that I will end up at the hospital again!!

Hi, kistrinea. Hugs to you, and I am sooo sorry that BF left you in this mess. You need to find out where you stand. l) Have you always been on time with rent $$? If BF was two months behind, is there a reason why landlord just now brought it to your attention? 2) Is BF name on lease, or are you month-to-month? 3) Can you sit down with landlord and set up payment plan for the back two months? 4) Can you get some extra hours in at work? 5) Did BF always pay his share? If so, he needs to pay up his amount. 5)Are there other, cheaper places in the complex (i.e., upstairs, corner lot, etc) you could negotiate? Whiz.

Wow. I don't wish to interfere, but has your BF kind of left you high and dry? Or is he planning on returning to the home? Not at all considerate.

Is there anyway you can have an advance at work? Employers can often be more sympathetic to these situations than you think.

Talk to the landlady and see how she is willing to work with you.

Do you have any savings? If so you can get secured loans against the amount in savings that don't require a co-signer.

I can't understand why the bank needs you to have someone co-sign the loan. Do you have a car you can put as collateral at a bank - not one of these payday/ loan shark places?

Let us know what happens, and I send you lots of good vibes.

Hi, I don't usually post here, but I wanted to tell you that you do have some rights. I'm not sure if your BF has left for good, but I'm so sorry that you're in this situation!

Every state has a landlord tenant law, and it describes your rights and responsibilities. A landlord can't just turn off the heat, lock you out, etc. without starting legal eviction proceedings that usually takes at least 30 days. Call your state attorney general's office to get a copy of the landlord tenant handbook. You might also try to work out a deal with the landlord to catch up, if you can afford the apartment. If your name is not on the lease, then try to find a new apartment. Maybe you can ask your employer for an advance. I wish you the best of luck with this situation!
