I haven't been this excited about a Super Fling Boogie since my first one 3 years ago!
(A Super Fling Boogie is basically a "sort through everything and get rid of stuff" kind of thing. Here's a link that may help explain for those who haven't heard of FLYLady...
http://www.flylady.net/ )
I am amazed at some of the, ummm, treasures, that we have. Sadly, I don't remember buying some of it, or why we did buy it to start with. I have felt like kicking myself and other family members because of the wasted money, but so far I have resisted, LOL!
I finally decided that I'm not going to look at it as money wasted, but instead that maybe somebody else will get the stuff that truly needs it but couldn't afford to get it before. I'm also thinking that by having room in our lives, we're making room for good things to come to us. Jerrold Mundis says something about that in his book, I know.
Is anyone else flinging too?

Dear Lisa,
Okay, I'll join you for a Super Fling! I have some time tonight and tomorrow, and we'll see how much I can fling....We'll compare notes later......
Actually, I have someone asking me for used stuff to give away to some charity...just any old stuff will do...I think I can find something, anything, but it may not leave the house right away until I see again. But, it is still a fling.
I think I also need to do a Filing Fling.....I have so much filing to do that it will take several days to get it done......I have so much to do to keep me busy...cheap activities......that's good. Things to do as I wade out of debt....
Have a fun Fling! Littlesbigs
It's a Girl!
I too have been going through my apartment and getting rid of stuff that I don't need that is just cluttering up the place. At this point my motto is if I don't use it or truly love it. (I am not getting rid of my Harry Potter Books or cats.) then it's out the door.
I'm trying to be smart about it this time though and have listed some stuff out on Ebay. Maybe I'll even make a little of the money back that I threw away on things I don't truly love or need.
I will be so glad when I can look around the apartment and truly know that the things here are things that bring me joy.
Have fun with your fling everybody.
I've started my "flinging"/Spring Cleaning early also! :-D My first task, after the messiness of the holidays, was to make all the living areas organized. Books where they belong, Movies where they belong, kitchen counters pared down of appliances, etc. Already, it feels so much more relaxing. Next week, I have already made time in my schedule to work on closets each evening (bedrooms, linen closet, medicine cabinet, homeschooling closet, etc). I am hoping to have all closets done by the end of the week. My goal is to enter into Tax Time (a time I dread) with the peace of an organized house. I have figured out that the more disorganized and messy my house is, the more I want to get out and get away from it....which leads to me spending money.
Pat :-D
Lisa,
I've been flinging things throughout last year. And now that we will be moving to our new home soon, I definitely have alot of more things to get rid of.
Good luck.
MYM
Anyway, I did the Super Fling Boogie thing today to my bedroom only because I had to. We have a major mold problem and clorox is not taking care of it...so I am completely freaking out! Anyway best to flingin'
Lisa,
We superflinged our basement last month, and it felt great!
All my best,
Danni
I have to laugh, I was actually surprised to not see Flylady listed as one of the favorite debt authors.
I am flinging too, trying to empty out spare room, so my kids can have thier own bedrooms!!
I LOVE getting rid of stuff. It's actually MORE satisfying than acquiring stuff, now that I've learned how it contributes to my peace of mind. And my five-year-old has caught on, too--he loves to fling stuff from his playroom (thank goodness!).
What amazes me is just how much stuff I can find to get rid of. It doesn't matter if I just did a super fling boogie yesterday (and the day before and the day before), there's always still boxes and boxes of stuff I can get rid of. How does that happen???
It's clear to me that we are a society of TOO MUCH STUFF. I'm so glad the holidays are over!
Off to fling...
Heather
Hello,
What I love about Super Fling Boogies is that I'll occasionally find money! I've found Christmas "checks" and gift cards and an occasional $20 bill stuck in a book, etc. Anyway, I tossed 20 lbs of stuff yesterday from our spare room. I can't believe how many old phone books, unused detergent bottles (a kind we were allergic to) and other items we had in our spare room.
Since it's mostly used as a library, there are books piled around all over the place. I've started putting the books back on the shelves, even if they don't look very nice (piled every which way) just so I can get some floor space!
Sincerely,
Lindsey Schocke
