I can't believe that I am broke again!!!! This is a vent post -warning!

I can't seem to figure out how I am not able to budget my finances better. I have my monthly spreadsheet of expenses going out, and I see what my incoming salary is approx - hard to tell because I am never too sure how much tax will come out when I have a commission cheque.

I work it all out, then every month I seem to run into the same problems. The line of credit I have attached to my checking account is always used, it's $300. I have that currently maxed. I pay it off each month then max it again the following month. I just seem to have so many expenses outside of my spreadsheet. Paying $500 in debt repayment is also killing me. I can't believe that $500 can do that to me. I am trying to limit my spending through the week to just the necessary. I also had to borrow $100 from my savings account to assist in covering bills. That means from my paycheque tomorrow I need to put the $400 back where it came from.

No more expensive coffees. No buying stuff out of the vending machine. No more fast food lunches and limited eating out. It just gets so tiring to have no fun money. I just hope this condo is worth it. I have managed to have the whole week and not buy any of those items. I will try and keep it up. These will hopefully be snowflakes.

I am just nervous if a major emergency comes up, I have only my tooth money in savings and it can only be used for that.

Next month my mum is due from England. She said she would help me to buy a futon mattress for her to stay on. If you remember, I have had to throw 2 out due to my cat urinating on them. Lovely. He has since gone back to being a FT outdoor cat, and now he is due for his vaccines. Looking at another $200 in expenses.

Next month my commission cheque is going to look horrible. I just hope I can file my taxes quick enough to get that money in before my mum comes. I will need spending money with her.

I have quit smoking. I don't have any hobbies but the occasional 9 holes of golf and the gym. I spoke with my friend about this the other day and she said that it's not that I am bad with my money it is just that things are so expensive nowadays.

Thanks for letting me vent the same things I always vent. It saves my poor BF from having to hear it.

Can you get the cat's meds online? I've never done this myself but I have two dogs and last year's annual vet exams w/ flea/tic/heartworm meds was over $400~that doesn't include the extra $170ish for when my female dog got sick. I think your friend is partially right about things being so expensive. I have 5 of us living here:3 kids, 2 adults and the dogs. You should see my grocery bill and I don't buy lobster. Good job on giving up the smoking. That's a hard job to finish. I always think after smokers quit they'd become instant millionares cuz of the cost of cigarettes. Soon enough you will reap the rewards of your $500 debt repayment. I know about not having fun money though--sometimes it's really depressing. Seems like when we do get a little bit ahead something comes up.

Hey Beach - Sorry that I don't recall, but are you here in the U.S.?

If so, you can buy cat vaccines at feed supply stores (think places for farm supplies) - and if you don't know how to give a sub-q injection yourself, you can probably find someone that you know somehow that can do that for you.

All my best,
Danni
