Feeling down

I am feeling very down and beat. Just a very very sad feeling. I am overwhelmed and disheartened that I just can't seem to keep our financial burdens above water (so to speak). I feel like I am chasing one credit card payment after another...it just doesn't seem to let up!

I am not spending any money because there is simply nothing to spend. I am keeping our utilities paid and in service as I pay them out first. I guess I just feel tired of going on an on without making any headway.

Thanks for listening...

Hello,

I understand that it can get disheartening when you feel you are just treading water without making progress. However, if you are making your minimum payments on your debts and your spending on those loans / credit cards, etc. then your balance is probably getting smaller, little by little. Even if your minimum payment is only $2 less than last month, it's still a little extra you could send to another bill. Keep up the good work (paying those utilities and mortgage first). Keeping your head above water will let you see the opportunities and grab them, even if it takes patience to wait for them!

Thank you for the encouragement. I guess it is the fact that my husband did not recieve any sort of bonus whatsoever for the Christmas Holiday. It upset me because I was looking forward to reducing some stress and when he came home with two GOLF CLUBS my eyeballs almost popped out of my head!!!!

The company he works for is small and he is the top Designer. The other two employees are new (within a few months), so it is really just him!!!! They told him that they did better than they had projected to do...SO WHERE IS HIS HOLIDAY BONUS!?!?!?! I just feel sick thinking about it...I cried (while alone of course) because they gave him GOLF CLUBS...what the h#)) can we do with those!?! We can't eat them, our family can't enjoy them in any way. Then they had the nerve after their weeklong Christmas "Mandatory Holiday" closing to offer him that stupid Sattellite Radio!!!! They did that because they gave the new people that for their Holiday Bonus.

I am no longer working and now I feel scared and alone. My husband just thinks we can "just pay it" (meaning our bills), when I try to explain to him that he doesn't make enough money he withdraws. He went THREE years without one single raise!!!!! I just feel like he has no care about the well being of his own family.

I feel sick and scared (heartbroken just about covers it) about his lack of concern for our family and his OBVIOUS concern for his boss's company.

Hello,

I would be disappointed too if I was given 2 golf clubs for a holiday bonus. Your husband may be concerned about not getting a bonus or not getting a raise, but there isn't much he can do about the company deciding to give him one or not. What you may need to do is sit down with him and *show* him the income and the bills that it needs to pay. He may have suggestions for things he could cut down on. Maybe you could sell those golf clubs on eBay and get *something* from them that would help make ends meet.

Sincerely,

Hi Nini - I'm so sorry that you're feeling so stressed and down right now.

Is it possible that your DH is withdrawing because he's feeling like he's "not enough" for his family?

All my best,
Danni
