I didn't get to see more than 5 minutes of it. DH isn't a big fan of hers so we watched something else instead. I wish I would have seen it.

A little late Becky, but I totally agree. There really was nothing new in it. I have learned more from this board than I did from that special last night.

I don't think it was worth watching -- I fell asleep toward the end, having learned nothing that I hadn't heard better explained on this board. She was pretty clear that debt consolidation is a bad move, since they pretty much require that you totally destroy any fico score you might have by not paying bills for a few months so the companies are willing to consolidate.

No, it wasn't anything earth shattering, but I did find the explanation of the difference between debt consolidation and a debt management program helpful. We had a poster here a while back who was asking about what I thought was DMP, and someone was advising against it. Now I realize that the poster was talking about debt consolidation. Since we are in a DMP, I was starting to second guess myself. I now realize that we did the right thing for us.
