Wasting water! OT

HI, Heather, Pat, and everyone. Do any of you go thru the "wasting water" scenarios? The one where DH says, "Take shorter showers, do less laundry, you're wasting water", but then sends me out in the rain to get drinking water? We have enough bottled water (the delivery kind, low in sodium , etc) to last through 10 winters, but he wanted Dasani water! I do find half-empty bottles of drinking water all over the house, so I pour it into another and stick it back into the fridge! I was SO mad, because I had just been to the store. DH must be part camel. Anyone else have ideas on how to get rid of this ridiculous habit? Sorry I'm venting, but this is one ridiculous (and expensive)habit I want to break DH of. Ideas? Whiz.

Whiz Where are you located?
Are you asking what the shelf life of water is? That depends on the how the water is stored. Water stored in plastic bottles in direct sunlight has a shelf life of 2 days, but bottled water stored in a cool building can last several years.
Unfortunately its the bottle itself that can cause the water to be altered. I believe water in a glass container could have an indefinite shelf life.

"Deer Park is the BEST water!" Well, I did recently play a little trick on him. I took one of his empty Deer Park water bottles and filled it with just normal cold tap water, and then I brought it to him, and he didn't know the difference!! LOL! :-D "
Thats because Deer Park is just tap water. Its usually tests pretty high on the TDS reading, as do most municpal water supplys.
