Hi,
I just opened the bill for my husband's dental work: $4500.00 Yow!!! We have dental insurance but it only pays a total of $1500.00 per year. So -- 3000.00 more to worry about. Also got a bill for double our water bill for 215.00. Water is billed every 2 months, but, unknown to me, they decided to replace our water meter, so didn't bill in November -- now I get a bill twice the normal amount. It is never ending. I don't think I have any more belt tightening in me. So much for my great snowflaking ideas -- it looks to me like this will go on forever. Sorry for the rant, I'm just discouraged.

Megan,
HUGS! How incredibly frustrating!!!! Call the dentist's office and set up arrangements for a payment plan. They should do that for you at no interest, I think. Then call the water company and ask them what the minimum amount you HAVE to pay not to incur any late fees/other charges. If they do not require you pay this ENTIRE amount, give them what they want now, and budget the remainder in with next month's bill.
That will at least buy you some time to figure it all out!
Good luck!!!!!

Is the bill for work he needs to have done or work that he has already 'had' done? The reason I'm asking is that our insurance also covers only $1500 per year. On February 9th, I'm having gum surgery, which will take $1000 of the $1500. So I have already told my Periodontist and Dentist that with my every-4-month cleanings, I will not be having any other major procedures this year. They have assured me that they will do their best to maintain my teeth for me, though cleanings, if there is any other major procedure needed, to get me to the next insurance year. Is this a possibility for your husband? Can they work with him to do the most important procedures now and wait on the rest?
