Ouch..dr appt and medicine, $$

Hi everyone. So if I wasn't feeling quite crummy enough when I posted earlier about the student loan situation, I also had to schedule a doctor appt for today because my blood pressure medication ran out but the doctor had to check me to make sure it was working properly before she would call in a new prescription. I had figured they would just call in the prescription, but no, they had to have me come in. So 72 dollars later, I whip out the cc because I only have 37 dollars in my checking account until friday. I'm soo angry at myself, because I could have just paid 10 dollars or something like that and set up a payment plan instead of putting it on the cc. That's what I did last visit...I guess the idea of adding another bill to the mix seemed worse than adding it to the cc debt. I don't know. I wish I could go back and change it. Then on top of it my medication came out to 30 dollars and that had to go on the cc as well. I just feel like I killed my progress this month. I snowflaked about 250 dollars this month to cc's and now I just charged a hundred dollars back on my cc and am going to whipe out the 90 dollars I have in my savings account in order to pay dbf's student loans. All I can say is thank god my loans are not in repayment yet. Man...

That's what I was thinking when I saw your post--isn't she the one w/ the student loan deal? Ouch. I'm hearin ya on the Dr bills too. Just think of it as an investment. The BP meds are important and their working properly is the whole point--you don't wanna stroke out! I had high BP at the end of my pregnancy and it lasted for about 3 mths. It's leveled back out to almost normal. Don't worry about the CC bill now--can't be good for the BP. One day at a time. ;)
Total bummer on the MD and med bill. BUT at least you can hold on to the thought that you had snowflaked $$$ last month, so -- this extra just undid your snowflake, but didn't actually ADD to the bill. Heh Heh -- a different way to try and think about it.

Hello,
Sometimes, you don't have any choice but to charge it to your credit card. If you feel really awful about it, then budget an extra payment to that credit card to cover the amount you charged + interest. I have charged something two days before payday because the checking account was too low, then scheduled a payment with online bill pay so that a payment for the amount of the charge (and a little extra for interest) was sent to that credit card on payday. If you have any wiggle room in your budget, this helps keep those debt amounts from rising even when you can't avoid charging.
Sincerely,
