Seriously, why is it that my husband pays 100 back on a hospital bill each month, each month they deduct a different number. One month it is $ 70, the next month it is 72, the month after that it may be 69. I am so clueless on why it is not a constant number that his hospital bill goes down by every month.

Could be a couple of reasons.

yes, it is an American hospital bill. He got it before he moved over here (appendecitis). It used to be 12,000 but they lowered it to 6000 and he still owes roughly 4000 on it. He's only makeing $100 payments. I wished we could get that thing gone quicker too. I'm thinking about maybe, when he has his child-support paid off, getting a loan for that and just pay it off from over here. We would save a lot of hassle that way, I think. I would have to look into what would be cheaper, paying 100 a month, plus Western Union fees, or taking out a loan and pay it off from over here and send a lump sum to Mother-in-law's bank, if possible, so that she can pay it off. But I still have a year to think about that.

I think the way you explained it makes sense. She pays it on the 3rd or so, whenever his disability comes in. So if they add a daily interest to it.. then it makes sense. Thanks
