payday tomorrow and 15 dollars to spare

Hi everyone! I just wanted to stop in and say that although I had anticipated a "hairy" week moneywise it actually turned out ok. I wanted to take my dbf out for dinner for his birthday (which is tomorrow, but we are doing a family party with his parents and his mother is cooking for that) so we will do dinner out sometime next week. I thought he would want to do it this week but his work schedule wouldn't permit it, which worked out for me because I only have 15 dollars left in my checking account! I was going to have to transfer money from savings to cover the dinner cost but I wasn't about to not do dinner for his birthday. Luckily I already bought his gift a few weeks ago so that is done and over with. I'm proud of myself though because that 15 dollars has been sitting in my account all week and it has not been touched. I get paid tomorrow so all is well, I am proud of myself for not having to transfer from savings to avoid overdrafting. I plan to go to the grocery store today (I really want to make brownies for dbf) but that shouldn't cost much if I stick to what I plan on getting.

Just happy that I stuck to my plan this week. I didn't even splurge on my weekly people magazine which is my weakness--every friday I treat myself to people and star magazine, they are ridiculous but I enjoy them anyway--but not this past week!

Go me! Oh yeah...and I convinved my grandmother to open up an ING savings account through the referral I sent her so I earned another 10 dollars in my savings account! Almost up to 500 dollars in there now for emergencies/wedding fund if it's not raided before then!

Hey, that's terrific! Congratulations! I love when I'm able to have a bit of money left in my account on payday. I strive to do it every month, but there are some months when I'm actually "borrowing" from the next paycheck a few days ahead of time (bad heather, bad!).

Anyway, isn't it a great feeling! Good job! Go, you!

Very cool! $15 is pretty darn decent! And that extra $10 in your ING account surely helps, too!

I am really proud of you for not picking up your magazines this week! I know how much you love them!!! Maybe you could alternate between the two? Get People one week, and Star the next? OR get a subscription? Those are typically a lot cheaper! OR ask your bf to get you a subscription for Valentine's Day, or some other holiday! :)

I hope you and your bf have a fabulous birthday celebration - this week and next!
