About 15 years ago our gas for the home was turned off. We had to give them a deposit of $200.00 to have it turned on again. Well, we have yet to see the return of that $200.00. When I questioned them they said we would have to have "perfect" credit with them and then they would send us the deposit. Isn't there a statue of limitations that states that utilities can only hold your deposit for xxx years?

I'm not sure as this is a specific question the best place would be to ask it on the Debt Question and Answer board http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-mldebtqa
I think as long as you are still dealing with that particular company they can keep it but they might have to give you interest?????????????????????
