I thought this year might be a good year , good luck and a new leaf. Between my dad dying last year, my son needing surgery (LOTS OF $$). I have been down and out for a while, so I figured.. new year, good luck, you know?
2006 isn't turning out just as planned. I only have $250 in my emergency fund right now and Roto Rooter is on his way over to my house for a possible slab leak. Yes, the dreaded words a homeowner does NOT want to hear. I have been running out of hot water really quickly for about a month now.. First we thought we could fix our water heater ($50 on new parts).. that didn't work, so we bought a new one ($200), come to find out, it's probably not the water heater, and it probably is some other plumbing , leaking problem. I thought I had another good start to saving $$, after getting tapped out after DS has surgery. I just can't seem to GET the 1K in my emergency fund before I have to use it! I have a sneaking suspicion that this plumbing problem *might* (haha) cost me more than $250.
I know I am feeling sorry for myself, it'll be a short pity party though, I promise. I will start to be thankful for what I DO have again soon.. : (

That's so frustrating! Feel free to feel sorry for yourself! :) I often do :P I love being a homeowner but it STINKS when there are problems. We are having to use some of our tax return for repairs on our home. I HATE THAT!!!! I've been feeling sorry for myself about that. I think everyone needs to feel that before they roll up there sleeves and take care of business.
Good Luck,
Cristin
