I was able to efile on line, this is the first year I tried it. It only cost $19.95 & we'll have our $515 refund direct deposited to our checking account. It was really quite easy, I figured the taxes before hand so I had a double check.

Aren't computers & the internet just amazing!!!

I love it, too!! Even though we have to pay federal this year, the IRS will let you specify the day you want it taken from your checking account when you efile...how cool is that? So I can file now, and pay in march, when my gas bill isn't $400. heather

Oh no! Why did you pay for it?? You can file taxes for free through the IRS.gov website.

Unfortunatly, not everyone qualifies for free filing, but I believe you can deduct the expense from next years taxes.

I used an online program called TaxAct. Here is a link if anyone is interested-https://www.taxactonline.com/s_online_tax2005/introduction/intro_index.asp

I used the free program and it worked just as well as the online Turbo Tax, in fact they found another deduction for me, adding a few more dollars to my refund. E-filing was also free, an extra bonus.

Hope this helps someone.
