Yesterday was crazy...

Yesterday was a crazy day for me, I was substituting at an elementary school and on the way to school the roads were soooo icy. Basically imagine a snow covered back road with 15-20 cars all stopped, half of them in the ditch or wrecked and the other half just unable to move because of all the wreckages. That was how my morning started. I ended up very scared because I don't have much experience snow driving (I'm only 22 and I usually make my bf drive in the snow!!) and when I tried to avoid hitting the stopped car in front of us (my brother and I) we slid sideways. I was able to counter-steer the slide but we just barely avoided sliding off the road down a hill/into a tree. Very scary. Anyway once we got stopped we were ok, and luckily the car behind me was a teacher who was going to the same building I was, so at least the school believed us! We had to wait about a half an hour or more for help to arrive to help direct us where to go and what to do. We were able to detour down an adjoining road and it was out of the way but we were able to get where we needed to, however very slowly. The schools should have delayed but when we woke up it was clear, then started snowing, and it was too late to delay at that point. Many students were late as well and some of the busses didn't make it until 10am. I got there at about 9:15 am or so and there was a teacher covering my room until then.
Anyway, this past week was a good one. I got paid and was able to pay my cc payments and although I wasn't able to snowflake as much as last month I did pay over the minimums so my snowflake total for this week is currently at 58 dollars. So that's good I guess I can't complain although I would liked to have paid more. On the upside I filed my taxes (just the federal) and they were accepted with a return over a thousand dollars, which is enough to pay off the loan I owe to my friend (1200) and the remianing 100 dollars or so I want to put in my ef. I will probably need to drain the EF soon for car repairs (something has been wrong with it for a while, getting worse...) but at least if I can build up EF enough to cover it I won't have to use credit. Anyway, looking forward to getting my tax return and to that 1200 dollar snowflake coming up! That will be exciting to take a big chunk out of my debts!!!
Hope everyone else is doing well!

Wow that is so scarey! Last winter we did a complete 360 on the highway...it was like slowmotion, and I locked eyes with a scared woman behind us, who amazingly didn't hit us...my kids were in the car too... we couldn't believe we didn't get hit or cause an accident, but I felt sick to my stomache!
I'm not sure I read your "story", but at 22 getting a handle on your debts, being able to have the discipline to snowflake, and wave good bye to that tax return sure sounds positive to me!
