Danni,
Your meticulous record keeping really puts a sharp perspective on consumer debt. $500 per month is a car payment, a healthy deposit into a Freedom Fund or a nice retirement contribution.

I think that I am going to add up my interest payments from last year and take a dose of reality.

What a great AND DEPRESSING idea! lol

Although, it is a shock sometimes when I see that on one of my CCs, I pay about $90/month just for having a balance on it! Ugh!!!!!!! And with the other cards, the interest just adds up even further!!

Thanks for the idea, and congratulations on your "loss"!!!

Um, Danni, thanks for the wake up call and the dose of reality. Maybe I should do the same thing.

I find it amazing that cc companies have convinced us, the savvy American consumer that we have to pay (and pay ALOT) for the priviledge of using their card. I mean, most of us will drive miles to buy things on deep discount, but how many of us will sit there and figure out the price when we add the interest to the purchase price if we buy it on credit. I know I never did until I joined this board.

Good job though on getting that interest down.

You are truly an inspiration to us all.
