finally making progress

Hi everyone,
I finally got the time to sit down and reconcile my accounts and get my Quicken up to date. I watched our budget closely for the entire year of 2004; however, 2005 kind of slipped away from me. I am determined to get back on budget in 2006! We had a big item purchase in October 2005 (dh's car) that we paid mostly cash for (!!!). Last month, I finally paid mom last $300 that we borrowed to make this purchase. Now, to my credit lines! I anticipate paying my credit lines off (currently outstanding by 1200) and having a positive balance of about $700 by the end of March, that's if we stick to the budget. It won't be easy. I just paid all my bills this month which felt really good. I am finally caught up with all my utility, internet, and phone bills, for a change. Just feels good to be back on track :)

Hello,

It sounds like you are planning some good progress on your debt! A payoff in March is not too long to sacrifice.. it looks like 2-3 years for our household to pay off debt (not including the house) so I would love it if I had a target date of the end of March!

Sincerely,
Lindsey Schocke

Hi Lindsey,
Actually, I don't even know when I will pay off my cc debt, I guess I need to figure it out. I was just speaking of my current bills, what I owed to mom, and my credit lines. Unfortunately, I have long ways to go to be debt free :( I am new to this board, and I now realize I should have posted below under weekly check ins. I've been spending quite a bit of time reading posts here, and it looks like you guys are really determined to get out of debt. I think I will join you :)
