Stressed out!
| Wed, 02-15-2006 - 6:18pm |
I have a habit of going off the deep-end when i am in extremely stressful situations, like i am right now, with what is going on with my Dad (I wrote about that in the check-in). Anyhow, i am trying to stay somewhat rational at this time, which is difficult for me to do. for example, i called the toyota dealer and had them send me brochures on all of their vehicles with third row seating (which we do need, but now is not the time to start shopping for a car!)
Anyhow, I am flying out to be with my family again tomorrow, even though i just got back very late monday. I am going to be gone about 4 days. i am going to try to bring $40 with me, and that is it. There is food in the house, but i tend to make unhealthy choices and eat salty french fries twice a day, too!
I have been telling my younger brother that we all need to stay rational and somewhat compartmentalize what we are feeling right now so we don't get tricked into making stupid choices when we are most vulneranble.
it is always two steps forward, one step back. If any of you have ever seen the Disney movie Hercules, the part that sticks out in my head right now is "All we need now is a plague of locusts. *CHIRP*!!" I charged my plane ticket, but paid it off, my snowflakes are melting, but i haven't touched my emergency fund yet, which is good. Hope it stays that way...my tax refund evaporated, just about. I will go into work tonight for about 5 hours...$65, not much, but close to half the price of my airfare. MUST KEEP GOING!!!
Trying to chill,
Heather

hang in there, girl. so sorry to hear about your dad.
sending you some cyber hugs.
MYM
Working tonight might also help things seem more "normal". Huge hugs to you! I can completely relate to the fries-that's one of my big stress foods! If you can writing stuff out might help keep things in perspective-just tell yourself that you have to write every decision down whether it's in columns of pluses and minuses or whatever.

(((hugs))) Hang in there Heather.
All my best,
Danni
