Good Morning!
I passed out on the sofa when I got home last night EXHAUSTED….still not feeling well and work is a roller coaster. I am hoping to get rest today….tomorrow and Monday are days I have to get up extra early to go to work…oh, don’t ask………ugh…………………….Well, I was all psyched to watch the Olympics, but I passed out after the 2nd ice dance. ZZZZZZZZZZZZ…………………………..Then I woke up at about 4AM, and they were showing that Lindsey Jacobellis snowboarding loss…….oh, man, what a sports moment! Yikes! I don’t know what’s worse, however: The actual moment or having to watch it over and over and over again on the replay for the following 3 hours….I switched the TV to another channel, and I guess I’ll stick to “Little House on the Prairie” for the morning……no, it’s “Old Yeller” now……..I never saw it before, so think I’ll leave it on, catchy theme song, hahaha!
Well, the Jacobellis loss has had me thinking about debt…………how’s that??? I was thinking how she was coasting along with the gold in her site, and then she did something that cost her that gold, and she ended up getting silver instead, but is silver so bad? Like have you been doing well with your debt reduction plan, making payments, keeping to the budget, and then BAM! You’re sidetracked, run off the course, maybe do something you shouldn’t have, and you’re off course, laying in the snow, but you GET UP AND KEEP GOING!!! And you may not have gotten the gold, but you DO have the silver or maybe the bronze…you DID FINISH THE RACE!!!! I saw an interview where she said she knows the race isn’t over until after you cross the finish line, but in the case of debt, we have to make sure that once we cross the finish line that we don’t go back and have to cross it again……..Let’s make this our last debt race. Cross that finish line and keep going!!!!!!!!!
Go for a medal today…..or just keep heading to your finish line!!! I know we can all do it! Littlesbigs

I agree! I don't think my family is going to hit GOLD, but SILVER works just as well! We just keep trying to make good financial decisions, and when we make bad decisions, we try to find the best way to work with it!
For example: last night we stopped at a bookstore to pick up a $10 gift. Well, we found a gift for EXACTLY $10, but ended up spending $65 total (we found some books WE wanted...). Well, I just got a $50 check for my birthday, so I decided to use that to cover what we overspent last night. We will still be $5 short ($65 - $10 gift - $50 bday check), but that is a lot better than being $55 short! :)
Just keep pluggin away!

I WILL FINISH THE RACE!
I think the other message might be don't go showing off just cause the end is in sight so don't start buying the caviar, big screen TV, etc. when the end of your debt journey is in sight.
