Is there *one thing* that you have been meaning to get to for weeks or even months now?

All my best,

I've been wanting to finish my taxes on-line and I finally got all the necessary paperwork so I filed them very late last night!!!

It feels really good to get that done and to know the exact amount of my refund!

I typed up our dreaded notice of intent to vacate this morning, took it to the post office and sent it certified mail with return receipt. there is no turning back now.

I did it!!! (even before I knew about the challenge) I updated my snowflake totals!!!! It seems like the month flies by before I know it!!! It feels really good to *know* where we are on our debt.

I'll have to think of another "undone" deed to do!!!!

I did it! We have a small leak from the pipes leading to the washer in our basement. We're going to have a plumber look at/fix it when we get our tax refund but it had a table stacked with stuff in front and some stuff on the floor that had gotten nasty. I've moved the table, cleaned up the floor and thrown away a bunch of random stuff.

Hi, Danni--Well, I finally switched the 18% Discover Card to the 4.9% fixed (for life) Capital One cc. I can honestly say it was the great folks here that gave the push to get this done. It seemed like forever as I kept looking at various rates, offers, etc., but I think this fixed rate thing is the better deal, rather than 0% for, say, 6 months, only to astronomically and exponentially go upward. A great big thank-you to each of you for your wise counsel, experience, and helpful tips on this. What a relief! WHiz. PS--DH confiscated the cards, so that I dont know where they are. His only cc balance is now $650 and then, he is cc free!

Well our thing that needed finished was some baby shopping. The coupons were going to expire today. Last night we got the swing, changing table, carseat and extra base. That was all that would fit in our car. My dad went with Brandon today and got the crib. The swing and the changing table are put together so now we just need to finish the crib. :)

we finally printed off our free copies of our credit report. It was pitiful to see, so I know why I haven't done it before now. I finally sat down, printed it off and cried. We have made such a mess of our finances. But that is ok. We are going to fix this. There is no reason we can't dig our way back out of this mess. My dh and I plan to have alot of fun marking things off one at a time. We have set a goal of payoff for all of this with a wish for a house to follow. I know that everything has to be taken care of plus a nice down payment to follow but it can be done. Thanks for the small kick to finally finish this! Terri

You will be amazed at how fast the down payment will come after you are debt free, if you can live with the cut-backs and not borrowing on high interest credit cards long enough to get debt free, I'm sure you will be able to stick with it to make the down payment happen, because once you are debt free the house will be in sight. I know I can already see tbe difference just knowing that if I keep on track I will be debt free 12/31/07 maybe sooner. For me it will mean $1200+ a month not going to debt repayments, fiance got a tool catalog this weekend and is already dreaming of what he'd buy if he had a garage, and I reminded him that when we're debt free we'll be able to buy that tool for cash and anything else for that matter and that we'll be able to save quite a bit of it for down payment on our home. Of course, I expect realistically our spending will probably go up $150-$400 of that amount as right now the belt is almost too tight some months, but if we can avoid using the cards we'll be miles ahead of where we are at right now. Good luck and keep your chin up as you conquer the debt the credit reports will look better. If you didn't print off all three the financial experts recommend checking each one once every 4 months to make sure no mistakes or ID theft have occured and you get a snapshot 3 times a year.
