well, we have an apt, but yes. i have already started the 'nesting' phase with the baby due in 2 months, so it shouldn't be too hard. everyday, i'm cleaning/clearing out something!

don't think so. we have all the supplies we would need here already, and my SIL is good to just jump in and clean anytime she's over - which is at least 2x a week. (i'm not sure why , but i don't ask or complain.) also, we live in a 1 BR/1 BA apt, so there's not *that* much to clean anyway (even though the apt's pretty big sq-footage-wise). *also: no. it's not in our budget at this point for too much of anything extra. and either way, spring cleaning is still not worth affecting our debt expenses even further.
3. What will be the most challenging cleaning job you will tackle this year as part of spring cleaning?
our huge storage closet. it's full of boxes and bags and just JUNK really. and it's SO big. i don't know why they even call it a 'storage closet'. DH and i are planning to set up a twin-size bed in there with a little dresser and lamp for when family is over to help with the baby! it's a neat little space, but i know it's going to be a chore to clear out and set up!
4. Will your spring cleaning benefit you in any way on your debt journey?
i hope so! i already know of a couple of things i have that i want to sell on ebay. i just have to find them in the storage closet! and any extra money we make is going to be split between the savings and emergency fund.
good questions!! now i'm excited about spring cleaning!
Proud sister of a Marine:
1. Are you going to do any "spring cleaning" this spring to your house?
YES YES YES!! We live in a very dusty air due to lots of construction of new houses
2. Are you going to spend any substantial money (or do you want to spend any money) on cleaning supplies, cleaning helpers, plastic containers, etc? Is it in your budget? Is it worth putting on a credit card or affecting debt payments to accomplish?
We aren't going to spend tons of money. I use hot soapy water or hot water w/vinegar for most of my cleaning. We do need to start saving for a new vacuum cleaner because ours is wigging out on us but we have *some* time
3. What will be the most challenging cleaning job you will tackle this year as part of spring cleaning?
I have vowed to wash all of our blinds for my spring cleaning. They are those custom cut ones you can buy at home depot that are faux plantation style
4. Will your spring cleaning benefit you in any way on your debt journey?
Anything that keeps me home keeps me out of the stores;-)

Yes!

No, I will use what I have on hand.
3. What will be the most challenging cleaning job you will tackle this year as part of spring cleaning?
Getting rid of the clutter. I have a big yard sale late spring/early summer every year. The months leading up to it drive me crazy. I have piles of junk I'm 'saving' for the sale everywhere.
4. Will your spring cleaning benefit you in any way on your debt journey?
Sort of. I make 200+ at my sale each year and am counting on that plus the 3 paycheck month in June to make a good dent in my debt.

1. Are you going to do any "spring cleaning" this spring to your house?
I am hoping to be able to find a weekend soon that we can send the kids to the Grandparents and DH can help with a major spring cleaning. With 2 little ones it is so hard to get any "normal" cleaning done. I guess I could try to do 1 room at a time while they nap but that is my down time but I may just have to suck it up and do it then.
2. Are you going to spend any substantial money (or do you want to spend any money) on cleaning supplies, cleaning helpers, plastic containers, etc? Is it in your budget? Is it worth putting on a credit card or affecting debt payments to accomplish?
Of course I always want to spend money but I think we probably have everything we need to do what we need. If not I would just be buying normal weekly cleaning items. Nothing major.
3. What will be the most challenging cleaning job you will tackle this year as part of spring cleaning?
EVERYTHING but mostly mine and the kids closets. DH has been painting our 3rd floor (his "den") My off season clothes are up there in a closet which has become his storage for everything and I need to get in there and clean it out and get rid of stuff. I also need to go through the kids clothes and put stuff away and see what I need to get for Spring/Summer.
4. Will your spring cleaning benefit you in any way on your debt journey?
Probably not, I'm sure there will be a lot of stuff that I will get rid of, clothes, toys etc. but my husband is of the mind set that these things should be donated not sold so no garage sale for me. If I find any big ticket items I may take them to a consignment shop but most will go to a local Women's shelter and since right now we don't really have $$ to give to charity, this is our way of giving.
1. Are you going to do any "spring cleaning" this spring to your house? Yes the apartment is in desperate need of a good cleaning.
2. Are you going to spend any substantial money (or do you want to spend any money) on cleaning supplies, cleaning helpers, plastic containers, etc? Is it in your budget? Is it worth putting on a credit card or affecting debt payments to accomplish? I shouldn't have to spend anything substantial. I need to pick up a few cleaners but nothing too expensive. I'll be spending cash on them though, I'm counting this as part of the move expense. Moving in June/July gives me a real reason to get all this done.
3. What will be the most challenging cleaning job you will tackle this year as part of spring cleaning? I'm purging my aparmtent of everything I don't absolutely need or absolutely love. Which means boxing/bagging up large amounts of stuff, which means not only will I actually have to go through everything but then I'll need to drag it all to a charity place.
4. Will your spring cleaning benefit you in any way on your debt journey? Yes I've notice the more stuff I get rid of the less stuff I want and the less organization items I need. I've also sold a bunch of stuff already on Ebay/Half.com. I have a couple of small animal cages that I want to put up on Ebay along with a yoga mat and some other small things. Hopefully they'll bring in a few extra bucks. Oh and I'm taking a bunch of books to the second hand book store for trade so I'll have a nice credit there which will help me not spend anything more on books. Plus whatever else I find to put on ebay and trade in.
1. Are you going to do any "spring cleaning" this spring to your house?
Yes!
2. Are you going to spend any substantial money (or do you want to spend any money) on cleaning supplies, cleaning helpers, plastic containers, etc? Is it in your budget? Is it worth putting on a credit card or affecting debt payments to accomplish?
Nope! We have plenty to use up that I got free or super cheap with coupons. We aren't doing any formal organizing because we are moving in Sept and I don't want to buy for this space and then have to to redo it.
3. What will be the most challenging cleaning job you will tackle this year as part of spring cleaning?
Umm...Everything! We have outgrown this space. Honestly, we moved a bunch of junk without weeding out because we were always in a hurry. So now I'm trying to weed everyting out. For instance, I just threw away one tennis shoe. Brandon hasn't had the other one for 2 houses now...LOL
4. Will your spring cleaning benefit you in any way on your debt journey?
Some things will go on Ebay, some things will be consigned and some other ones will be donated.. Less to move later!
