So usually on the 2 days that I work I stop on my way in and get a LARGE coffee at the local convenience store and usually end up with something in addition at about $3.00 - $5.00 a visit. Well, last night I decided that I would make coffee at home to bring with me and not stop and I saved myself the $3.00. It doesn't seem like a lot but $3.00 2x/week for 52 weeks is $312.00 a year!! There is no reason I can't program my coffee pot at night except shear laziness. I'm turning over a new leaf and committing to making my own coffee. Like I said baby steps but a big one for me.

It makes a huge difference, doesn't it. I take all my spare-change and put it in a piggy bank. When the piggy bank is full, I take it to the bank and put it into savings. Eventually it will go toward my credit card bill. I also bag a lunch, because it is so much cheaper than going to the store or the bakery every day to buy somehting. I end up spending around 10 Euros everytime I go. So needless to say I now go only once every 3 months or so. I went yesterday, but I can't tell you the time I went before then.

I hear you on that! Congrats for the small victories in the battle we're all fighting :)
I used to stop at the drive-thru of Tim Hortons every morning before heading to work to buy a Large hot chocolate and a muffin...$2.76 total...which adds up to $717.60 a year!!!
Once I finally recovered from that realization, I began to buy my favorite box of Twinnings' Earl Grey tea and also buy a bag of bagels to keep at work, along with some peanut butter and jam...I usually spend less than $10/mth to keep food supplies at work.
I've not only saved a ton of money but I've lost weight as well!
Keep it up!
