If you're reading this, then you are probably like me... and were very unthoughtful as to how cash adavances and payday loans could affect your life... not to mention your budget.
I started out with my first one... $800... in November of 2004.
When I couldn't pay it off or "roll it over", I started going to every other cash advance store in town. Evenutally I got turned down because I had so many out.
I had advances for:
$800
$772
$350
$350
$400
$200
Adds up to ALOT of headaches and worrying where the money is going to come from to pay it all off. I finally paid off one of $350's and the $400... and DID NOT GO BACK TO THESE COMPANIES!!!
I've called all of the rest and set up payment programs with each. I live in Illinois and there was a new law starte December 6th in which loans can only be for two weeks at a time and there are no "roll overs". Also, if you cannot pay your loan back by the date due, you have around 60 days to pay it off in full, or set up a payment program, WITHOUT EXTRA FINES OR LEGAL ACTION.
I still have alot to pay off, but with the help of talking to the people at the companies and setting up some sort of payment plan, I'll have them all taken care of by June. And that's on a part-time salary and going to college full time.
I can't express it enough... call the places before they call you and set up an arrangment. I am now no longer terrified to answer the phone because I'm afraid someone is calling to tell me that I owe them money.
And above all else......... WRITE THESE PLACES OFF! THEY ARE NOTHING BUT TROUBLE!!!
Hope this helps!
