DOG SURGERY!

My Bob has a ruptured cruciate ligament!

We were pretty sure that's what it was... he went to the vet today for x-rays and actual diagnosis.

I wanted all options open for me, so I applyed for a carecredit card. It's a credit card used for providing Vet, dentists, general medicine. They offer 6 months no interest.. after that 9% interest. So even though my Vet dosen't take Carecredit, other Vets in town do, so I was just covering my butt.. because I will do anything I have to for my Bob. I got approved for $3500.

Turns out my Vet (who I have been going to for 10 years) said that he would totally work out an arrangement with me!! Phew! I would much rather do post dated checks , then have to go to another Vet. I hate the fact that I have to pay $1200 within the next three or four months.. but I guess it will work out. I am supposed to close on a house I sold.. so IF that happens, I will be able to pay them off a lot sooner.. but you can never count on a closing until the check is in your hand!!

Just needed to vent! Thanks for listening!

Hello,

I'm sorry your dog needs such expensive surgery, but glad that your Vet is willing to work on a payment plan. Sometimes letting people know that you can't pay it in one payment (before you're late paying it) will spur them to figure out a way you *can* pay. =) After all, they do want to get paid!

Sincerely,
Lindsey Schocke

Hey, as they say, it doesn't hurt to ask. Now you can go with a vet you have experience with and are comfortable with. I hope Bob's surgery and recovery goes well.

Hi, AN---Am SO glad your vet came thru for you. Did you check out the PetCare Insurance at all? Maybe you can get reimbursed for some of that expense. Whiz.

Whiz.. I looked into pet insurance, but I was a little late.. the injury already happened, I had already called me Vet about it, and I didn't want to get caught for the pre-exisiting condition.. BUT I do think I am going to enroll after I finish paying for surgery, because he's getting older, and somehthing else is bound to happen!

You guys, I have been stressing SO MUCH about this. I am glad it's St. Patricks's day, 'cause I NEED a drink. !
