New Job, Surgery & Debt!!

Well hubby got the job offer and took it. They put his start date off a month so I can get my surgery and recover before he leaves. I want him to have that window in case something should happen to me. It is not brain surgery but it is close to it. And things happen....I should be able to have the surgery and be home before he needs to give notice. I only did half of my snowflake this month and saved the rest for parking, tolls & extras for the upcoming surgery. I think last time I went to this hospital it cost me $18 to park and we will be there at least 3 or 4 times before it all rolls out.
So it is a very busy month for us. We are going to use the w4 update site and on this new job he is going to take a higher deduction to keep us from getting so much back at the end of the year. We will put it towards our flake & I am going to join a gym to fill the days when hubby is gone. It is a great gym with a zero depth pool and 2 hour free child care so we will go a few days a week.
He will get paid 2 weeks vacation when he leaves his current job so we are going to budget 500 for new office furniture and the rest will be a lump sum on my target card and will guarantee we will pay it off before the no interest is over.
If you have any other suggestions or I am missing anything I would love to hear from you all.....
THanks!

Hello,
It sounds like you have it all planned out! Good work! If you can't avoid the surgery (which you probably can't) then you might as well have the least stressful surgery possible. I have gone through 5 abdominal surgeries that were outpatient, so I was home soon after, but very sore. I pre-paid any bills that would be due that month, just to make sure I didn't have to worry about it. My DH and I would shop for "surgery friendly" foods that my husband could make easily in the microwave or bake in the oven. Sure, he's a great cook, but he wanted to be able to focus on taking care of me, rather than trying to cook something intricate. =)

Well, my only suggestion is to take it easy and take care of you!
