NOT HAVING A GOOD DAY!

First, I found a Small Claims Court notice on the door! DH owes our college about $1,000 and just never paid it! icon_angry.gif So I straightened that out - paid the bill (plus $70 in court costs!!!).

Second, I get a notice in the mail saying

Aravis.. your husband sounds SO much like mine!!

The one thing that I have found that works for me is --1. We have separate bank accounts.. I simply cannot trust him with my Debit card.. he acts like there is a money tree that grows in the back yard.. so he keeps his account..(which almost always is empty) and I keep mine..

2. I actually have to *hide* money from him. I know that a lot of people might not approve of this.. but I do what I have to do to make ends meet. I work and so does he.. but he makes half of what I make.. so I can save money without him knowing.. and when he asks for extra cash, I just say no we don't have it. It might be hard for you because your husband knows how much money he has coming in.. but maybe to make yourself feel better, you can start stashing away a little at a time..

The motorcycle would have really made me mad--especially because it's YOUR credit that he used. I would have told DH.. if he can't get it on his own, then he can't have it.. you know.. BUT it WILL BE REALLY FUN TO RIDE!! (how do I know this.. because my husband bought one too!!!! ) a few years ago, and it was a real clunker.. but it gets us around on a Sunday afternoon!! So now that you have it, and can't go back.. go and have fun at least.. and don't forget Motorcycle insurance.. It's the car driver's on the road that makes me nervous!!

Good lUck!!

I am in the motorcycle situation too except that I bought my DH's as a suprise. He has always had old bikes with tons of miles. He worked so hard to finish his high school education at the age of 41. Not easy to do but he did it and it meant more money at his job and the accompishment of finishing what he stared. Enjoy the bike. We love to ride and find it relaxing and don't forget to wear your helments.
