Summer Splurges

With summer coming I needed to buy a blanket for my bed, as my duvet is way too hot and just ends up on the floor.

Pottery Barn email arrives, and I take a peek at the sale items and there was a king-size blanket on sale I couldn't resist. So today I treated myself to this item for summer. I also picked up a bikini on sale in Target - I really don't care about whether it's from this season or last! I also bought some cute sandles from A & E - not on sale. I also need summer shorts.

I would also like to get a new barbeque - my old one looks dead, plus some patio furniture (now I am fantasizing LOL).

Anyone else have summer splurges they need to make, and which ones will you resist?

Ahh..summer. It's hard to imagine it sitting here in PA with 40 degree weather! Target has the cutest bathing suits! Don't feel bad! I've never shopped at Pottery Barn though.

We normally don't have too many extra expenses in the summer. We've only taken 1 vacation in the 9 years we've been married (Disney 2004) and are going back in 2007 but I'll use next years tax refund for that. We do spend summer weekends at camp in our travel trailer- so we have to spend money for extra food and gas to get there. But it's well worth it!

However since our new house will be done around August we need to come up with cash to floor the entire home (we wanted to keep that out to reduce our mortgage loan.) Also curtains, appliances, paint, and dh is insisting on a riding mower. SO it's going to be a tight summer for us. Not to mention I'm scraping every penny this and next month to come up with downpayment. Hopefully we can save up a lot for those items when/if our house sells (fingers crossed)and by staying at my parents until the house is done.
