The title pretty much sums up my life at the moment, lol. I guess this is a mini vent . . .

Lets start with the downright UGLY. I woke up this morning to my right eye being swollen shut and crusted over (sorry if thats TMI!!!) Yup, you guessed it . . . Pink eye! And of course, I have an interview with my potential boss for my summer placement tomorrow :(

The Good: My Masters Program is Public Health, and is run through the school of Medicine and Dentistry, so there are a lot of doctors and nurses in my program. My one friend (Nurse Practitioner) took one look and said Pink eye, go get these drops. My options were to wait in line at the walk in clinic to get a prescription for the drops so they would be 100% covered, or buy the same drops OTC and pay for them.

The Bad: The wait at the walk in clinic was over two hours, and I had class, so over to the pharmacy I go. They were not that expensive ($15.00) but its really annoying that I have to use my allotted spending money on eye drops when they could have been covered if the walk in wasn't so full. Oh well, lets just hope they work so I don't scare off my interviewer tomorrow . . .

Have you considered calling your boss to reschedule?

Thanks for your replies ladies!!! Well, the bad news is that the pink eye spread to my other eye, but the drops are helping so its less noticable. The good news is that I got the job!!! I am very excited because my preceptor is very interested in working my placement so that I get what I want out of it (I have to send him a list of my goals) and on top of that, it pays twice what I thought it would (they have a policy of matching whatever the University gives them to have me, and giving me all the money!!!!) This means I can put a BIG dent in the student loans even before I graduate!! Yay!

Oh, and I dealt with the pink eye situation by telling him "this is where I would normally shake your hand, but since I may still be contagious, I would prefer not to start and epidemic. . . " He laughed!
