Way to go. That's great you were able to use cash. I'm planning a vacation in the fall, but will be saving until a week before we leave. I have ING taking an extra $25 out bimonthly and will be about $10 over what I want to have in cash by the 15th of Sept. for our trip starting the 22nd. I was going to call my aunt and uncle whom we'll be staying with but just hadn't had time yet, then my uncle had surgery yesterday so I called to see how he is and suprise my mom is there and spilled the beans I'm going to visit them this fall. Well, I wanted to ask them if we could visit, but they were just so excited to hear I'm coming to visit they didn't seem to mind I had planned the dates already without consulting them. It's not like I expect anything more than a bed, but I do plan on staying almost 3 weeks :) They let me stay with them for about 4 months one summer when I was in college and I got pretty close to both of them so I expected they wouldn't mind but they aren't my parents who have to take me in if I come to visit. I hope I budgeted OK, we're probably going to drive (unless I get a superduper deal on a flight then rental car will be biggest expense)so there's a couple hundred in gas, tolls but otherwise our biggest expenses will be food because I plan on eating lots of food I haven't been able to get down here and maybe a whale watching cruise or something like that.
